PVC Coated Fabric Manufacturer China

Engineered polyester textiles with PVC coating — waterproof, UV-stabilized, flame-retardant. For tarpaulins, tents, banners, truck covers, inflatables, and industrial applications.

A Spanish tent manufacturer was sourcing PVC coated fabric from a local supplier at €8.50/m². They needed 600 g/m² material for a 5000 m² expo center roof project — 30,000 m² total. At that price the project was barely profitable. Through a Google search for "PVC coated fabric manufacturer China", they found we could supply the same specification at €3.20/m² FOB. Same width (3.2m), same UV and fire certifications (NFPA 701, EN 13501), better delivery time. They've since switched their entire fabric sourcing to us — now running 100,000+ m² annually across 12 projects.

We're Di-moon Fabric, a PVC coated fabric manufacturer based in Guangzhou, China. We produce coated polyester textiles from 300 g/m² lightweight materials up to 1050 g/m² heavy-duty industrial grades, in widths up to 6.0m seamless (Flex banner 440 g/m²), and standard widths up to 5.0m for other grades. Our two coating methods — knife coating and calender lamination — cover different application needs. We also supply fabric with pre-lamination for customers who need fast-production materials.

✅ ISO 9001 certified production. Fire-rated options (NFPA 701, DIN 4102 B1, BS 7837). UV-stabilized (2000+ hours). Anti-mildew, anti-fungal, anti-static formulations available. MOQ from 500 m² per spec. Free A4 samples.

PVC Coating Methods We Use

Two manufacturing processes — each with different properties and cost profiles

🔪 Knife-Coated Fabric

Process: Liquid PVC paste is spread directly onto the polyester scrim and cured in heated ovens. The coating bonds mechanically and chemically to the yarns for excellent adhesion.

Best for: High-adhesion applications like truck tarps, industrial covers, inflatable materials where bending and folding are constant. Also suitable for heavier grades 500-1050 g/m².

Specs: 500-1050 g/m², 500-2000D scrim. Tensile 2500-4000 N/5cm (by grade). Tear strength 300-600 N (by grade). Excellent flexibility at -20°C.

Width: Up to 6.0m seamless for Flex banner (440 g/m²) only. Standard max width for other grades: 5.0m.

✅ Excellent adhesion — strong bond between coating and scrim

📋 Calendered Fabric (Hot Melt)

Process: PVC compound is plasticized in a calender machine and pressed onto the polyester scrim under heat and pressure. Quality and cost are similar to knife-coated fabric — the choice depends on the specific surface finish and flexibility requirements.

Best for: Banner fabrics, decorative films, ceiling films, tent fabrics, truck covers where a smooth, consistent surface finish is needed.

Specs: 300-650 g/m², 100-500D scrim. Tensile >1200 N/5cm. Available in gloss, matte, and satin finishes. Standard and blockout options.

✅ Quality and cost comparable to knife coating — suitable for high-volume production

🧪 Custom Formulation

Process: We adjust the PVC compound recipe to add specific properties — flame retardant chemicals, UV stabilizers, anti-mildew agents, anti-static additives, or food-grade ingredients.

Best for: Specialized projects needing certifications (DIN 4102, ASTM E84, EN 13501), medical-grade textiles, or extreme environment applications.

Specs: Any weight 300-1050 g/m². Custom colors (Pantone/RAL matched). Certifications per your target market's requirements.

Where PVC Coated Fabric Is Used

🏗️ Construction & Architecture

Tensile membrane structures, ETFE-style PVC roofs, building facade wraps, scaffolding covers. Needs UV stability, fire rating, and high tensile strength across wide spans.

Common: 650-900 g/m², EN 13501 fire rated, 3.0-5.0m width

🚛 Transport & Logistics

Truck flatbed covers, curtain sider fabric, open-top container lids, freightliner liners. Needs abrasion resistance, flexibility in cold weather, and tear strength at stress points.

Common: 650-850 g/m² knife-coated, Keder rail reinforcement

⛺ Tents & Events

Marquee tents, event canopies, party tents, stretch tents, camping tent fabrics. Needs waterproofing, fire compliance (CPAI-84, DIN 4102), and printability for branding.

Common: 440-650 g/m², blockout or translucent options

🎈 Inflatables

Bouncy castles, inflatable water slides, advertising arches, air dancers, boat fenders. Needs high-frequency weldability, consistent gauge, and EN 14960/ASTM F2374 compliance.

Common: 500-750 g/m², 0.45-0.90 mm thickness

FAQ

How does PVC coating compare to PU or silicone coating?

PVC coating is the most durable for outdoor use — waterproof, UV-resistant, and cost-effective. PU coating is lighter and more breathable, better for clothing. Silicone coating is heat-resistant but expensive and harder to seam. For industrial textiles like tarps, tents, and covers, PVC is the standard choice.

What width PVC coated fabric can you supply?

Standard widths: 1.0m, 1.37m (54"), 1.5m, 2.0m, 2.5m, 3.2m, 5.0m. Flex banner (440 g/m²) seamless width up to 6.0m. Wider panels (up to 10m) available by heat-welding multiple panels.

Can I order custom colors?

Yes. We match Pantone or RAL colors. Standard stock colors: white, black, blue, green, red, yellow, silver, camouflage. Custom colors minimum: 2000-5000 m² depending on formulation complexity.

What's the lead time for an order?

Standard specifications: 10-15 working days. Custom formulations or certifications: 20-30 working days from spec approval. Express production (7-10 days) available for urgent orders with 20% surcharge.

What is the minimum order quantity?

Minimum 500 m² for standard products. Small trial orders (200 m²) accepted for first-time buyers. Custom formulations require minimum 5000 m². For large ongoing projects, we can negotiate volume pricing at 10,000+ m²/quarter.

Do you provide third-party test reports?

Yes. SGS, Bureau Veritas, or TÜV reports available at cost. We provide in-house mill test certificates free with every batch. Third-party testing can be arranged before shipping.
